Hit the road to reach a small quaint village located 20km south of Marrakech. Between the majestic snow-capped Atlas Mountains, the vivid green of the olive trees, and the region's characteristic red soil, a truly spectacular landscape passes in front of your eyes before reaching this very spiritual place. 

As you enter the village, you discover sixteen shrines where saints have been buried as well as remains of a visionary irrigation system. A now private former Koranic school, a 'Zaouia', founded in 1584 is your first stop of the day. Still inhabited by the descendants of the Holy Founder, Moulay Hafid invites you for a private discovery of this historical place and he will prepare you the best tea in the kingdom with thyme carefully picked from the family farm a few kilometers away. If you happen to ride on a Friday, take a stroll in the maze of this typical souk and get to taste camel meat, sugar fritters, liver skewers or seasonal fruits and vegetables.

Continue your adventure to the Agafay Desert where you will see the striking contrasts between rock dunes, green oases and traditional villages. Take out your camera as this is a unique track in between mountains and desert. End your adventure with a local lunch in a glamorous desert camp overlooking the Atlas Mountains. Hit the road and make a first stop over an artificial lake which lies between you and the Atlas Mountains, a true Out of Africa moment. Take a stroll in the maze of a typical souk (no souk on Mondays or Wednesdays), a real hub of local life in the mountains. Seasonal produce, barbecues, hairdressers and donkeys, you find it all here.

One of our beloved panoramic roads takes you to a small Berber village located at an altitude of 1800m some 80km away from Marrakech. For lunch, Hassan, the chief of the village and his family welcome you as a family in their home with a traditional and local set of Moroccan salads, tajine and fruits. Explore the village by foot to meet the inhabitants, such as these talented rug weavers or their friendly kids. Climb up a cliff to discover ancient cave paintings or choose to walk to a canyon, a true oasis of greenery where every families’ crops are gathered thanks to a smart system of community gardens.

To go back to your hotel or any other place in downtown Marrakech, we can pick different routes. Either the dusty trails of the Agafay Desert or a smoother route through a valley to make one last stop in a beautifully decorated 16th-century coranic school.

Partez pour une journée d'aventure au grand air sur les contreforts des montagnes de l'Atlas. Déjeunez dans un village berbère et explorez le lieu à pied afin d’en savoir plus sur ses traditions, son architecture et sur sa vie quotidienne. Sur le chemin plusieurs possibilités s’offrent à vous dont un souk berbère, une kasbah du 19e siècle, un peu d’escalade pour aller voir des peintures rupestres ou emprunter les pistes du désert de pierres d’Agafay. Le prix est par sidecar soit 2 personnes par véhicule.

• Maximum 2 personnes par sidecar de 2 à 99 ans. En-dessous de 12 ans, chaque enfant doit être accompagné par un adulte. 

• Le point de depart de nos rides est situé sur le coté du "Café Taxi", boulevard Prince Moulay Abdallah, à 10 minutes en voiture de la place Jemaa el Fna. A la fin de votre ride, nous vous déposons où vous le souhaitez en centre-ville.

• Pour des raisons de sécurité, vous n'êtes pas autorisés à conduire nos sidecars. Casques, charlottes jetables ainsi que des équipements imperméables sont à votre disposition.

RIDE
As this is a private ride, you set the pace. Your insider will accompany you based on what you want to see and how long you want to stop. And if you see something you like along the route, just yell STOP! Your wish is our command. Expect to spend about 70% of the time driving and 30% exploring on foot. Our rides can accommodate up to 2 passengers by sidecar from 2 to 99 years old.


MEETING POINT

STANDARD MEETING POINT: The start point for our sidecar rides is located just close to Bakery "Café Taxi", boulevard Prince Moulay Abdallah, 10 minutes drive from Jemaa el Fna square.

CUSTOM MEETING POINT: Available only for La Mamounia hotel Guests. Please enter the number of vehicles needed on the next page. This service comes at the price of 200 MAD per vehicle.

At the end of your ride, we will drop you off wherever you like in downtown Marrakech free of charge.

LANGUAGES
We offer rides in different languages. When you send us your booking form you can ask for an insider who speaks a language other than English.


WHAT IS INCLUDED
Our rides are all-inclusive. Knowledgeable insiders immersed in local culture, characterful vintage vehicles, waterproof gear, helmets, site entrances, and refreshing drinks. This ride also includes a local lunch with non-alcoholic beverages.

For legal and safety reasons, you are not allowed to drive our sidecar.

REFUND POLICY
In case of a no-show or if you cancel within 48 hours of your ride you will be responsible for the total amount of your ride.
